British Ambassador to Nepal Mr Richard Morris and head of Department for International Development (DFID) in Nepal Dr Gail Marzetti visited Mugu from 3-7 April 2016. They held meetings with the DFID funded projects, government officials, political parties and other stakeholders in the district. They also visited several project sites in the district.
Some of the DFID funded projects in Mugu are Rural Access Programme (RAP3), Local Governance and Community Development Programme (LGCDP), Nepal Climate Change Support Programme (NCCSP), and Community Development Programme (CDP).
During the visit, they attempted to learn the overall development environment, development needs and challenges in the district. Most of the political parties active in the district met the visiting team. The political parties as well as the government line agencies acknowledged the support of UK government for development efforts in the district and suggested some priorities. In turn, the Ambassador and DFID head recalled the friendly relations and development assistance from the UK.
The Ambassador, DFID head, officials from DFID and RMO as well as the LDO Mr Prahlad Prasad Pudasaini visited 2 citizen awareness centres in Rowa VDC. They interacted with the members of Rinmokshya CAC in Jhakot and Malika CAC in Gadapani of the VDC.
