RRN distributes relief to tornado-affected people

Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) with its consortium partners distributed relief materials to more than 522 households to the tornado affected people of Bara district.

RRN with its consortium partner jointly distributed relief materials to 198 HHs at Rampurwa of Devtal Rural Municipality. Likewise, 121 HHs to Telgai of Mahagadhimai Municipality and 203 HHs of Pachrauta Municipality.
The relief materials (Shelter Kit, Dignity Kit, Household Kit, Hygiene Kit, Shelter Tool Kit, Baby Pack Small, Baby Pack big Kit and Water Kit) were assisted by the Department of International Development (DFID) and Care Nepal, Action Aid, Humanity Inclusion are its consortium partners.

RRN has stocked emergency relief materials at Pidarbani Chowk Gramthan Rural Municipality in Biratnagar Metropolitan city of Morang district of Province- 1, Dhuseri, Khaireni Municipality-3 in Chitwan district of Province- 3 and Karkado, Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan -18 in Banke district of Province -5.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, altogether 27, (10 male, 11 Female and 6 children) people in which 26 from Bara district and 1 from Parsa district have lost their lives in the storm that fatally hit the first ever recorded wind tornado on 31 March 2019. Likewise, 668 have been injured in the fatal storm.
