RRN implements integrated community development programmes and projects on sustainable rural livelihoods, sustainable agriculture and forestry, water, sanitation and hygiene, child and adult education, community mobilisation, biodiversity conservation, disaster risk reduction and climate change, emergency relief and recovery support, community infrastructure development and support local governments for governance strengthening and service delivery.
RRN works in different regions of the country, focusing more on the hardest hit by geographical difficulties, social conflicts, poverty, denial of human rights and discrimination. RRN's working districts cover 60 out of 77 districts along with some project phase out districts. In 2018, there are 12 different development programmes and projects are being implemented in Taplejung, Terhathum, Sankhuwasabha, Sunsari, Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Makawanpur, Ramechhap, Dolakha, Chitwan, Salyan, Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, Jajarkot, Jumla, Kalikot, Achham, Bajura and Bajhang districts.
