RRN Team Heads to Rasuwa for Relief Distribution and Recovery Operations

As part of RRN’s ongoing flood response, our field team headed to Dhunche in Rasuwa today,  tasked with distributing essential relief items to displaced and vulnerable citizens while also  strengthening our on-site base for recovery operations in the coming days and weeks. The team  departed Kathmandu this morning and reached Parchyang village in Rasuwa by evening, where  they will stay overnight before continuing their journey toward Dhunche.  

Rasuwa has suffered the heaviest damage of the three districts hit by the Rasuwa–Bhotekoshi  floods, and remains the site of the disaster’s largest search-and-rescue operation. Thousands of  people are still reported missing, particularly in the district’s hardest-hit northern wards along the  Nepal–China border, where road access remains severely limited and information from affected  communities continues to be scarce.  

This marks the next phase of RRN’s five- to six-day mission in Rasuwa, combining direct relief  distribution with an on-the-ground evaluation of needs in the district’s most severely affected areas.  By establishing a sustained presence in Rasuwa, RRN aims to move beyond the access constraints  that have limited the humanitarian response so far, and to ensure support reaches communities that  remain largely cut off from aid.
