The project targeted marginalized and climate-vulnerable communities including women, Dalit, Janajatis, Harawa-Charawa, and households engaged in child/forced labor sectors such as brick, carpet, and domestic work. Direct engagement included 22 local governments, 9 NGOs, and approximately 6,000 households.

Key Achievements / Results 

  • Co-created capacity assessment tools with World Education to evaluate NGO and municipal readiness in agriculture, forestry, and water management; piloted in Melamchi and Temal municipalities. 
  • Conducted orientation sessions for project staff, strengthening knowledge on child/forced labor, LANN, and CAFÉ frameworks. 
  • Organized a 3-day Monitoring & Evaluation workshop in Nagarkot (July 2024), refining the project’s results framework and performance monitoring plan. 
  • Carried out field visits in Sindhupalchok and Kavrepalanchowk, engaging 38 municipal officials and communities to identify gaps in water management, climate finance, and child labor mitigation. 
  • Developed 25 communication toolkits (11 agriculture, 6 forestry, 8 water management), translated into Nepali, and designed for accessibility. 
  • Strengthened PLA-LANN methodology, adding supplementary sessions on sustainable livestock, seed management, and rainwater harvesting to better align with climate and child labor contexts. 
  • Drafted a Social Mobilization Guideline for LANN and CAFÉ facilitators, covering participatory engagement, climate-smart practices, and child labor mitigation strategies. 
  • Contributed to COP29 consultation processes at provincial and national levels, preparing reports on climate change impa cts for submission to Baku.
