RRN Distributes Essential Relief Items to Women and Vulnerable Families in Nuwakot
Friday, 4 September 2026
As part of RRN’s ongoing flood response, our field team was at Bidur, Nuwakot, distributing essential relief items to displaced and vulnerable citizens sheltering at the Sundari Kyaurini Secondary School holding centre in ward no 10.
With women and newborns often among the most overlooked in the early days of a disaster response, today’s distribution focused specifically on their needs — including undergarments and essential items for newborn babies, alongside other relief supplies. Items were carefully recorded and handed directly to families at the site, with RRN staff working alongside local authorities and volunteers to ensure support reached those who needed it most.
This distribution is part of RRN’s wider response across Nuwakot, where more than 3100 people remain displaced across roughly ten holding centres following the Rasuwa–Bhotekoshi floods. This distribution of relief materials was supported by the ActionAid Association Fund. As the emergency response continues, RRN remains committed to ensuring relief efforts address not just immediate survival needs, but the dignity and specific needs of women, children, and other vulnerable groups.
