RRN and Welthungerhilfe Deliver 300 Food Packages to Uttargaya, Rasuwa Saturday, 5 September 2026 

As part of the ongoing humanitarian response in Rasuwa, Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN),  together with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), has completed the handover of 300 food packages to the  collection centre managed by the Uttargaya Local Disaster Management Committee (LDMC).  Uttargaya Rural Municipality was among the hardest-hit areas in Rasuwa, and today’s handover  marks an important step in getting essential food supplies to families still recovering from the  floods.  

Each package includes rice, lentils, salt, cooking oil, sugar, beaten rice, and biscuits — essential  supplies for households facing urgent food needs in the aftermath of the disaster. All administrative  processes have now been completed, with the LDMC set to lead the repacking and distribution of  these packages to the 300 affected households, expected to begin tomorrow.  

Some settlements in Uttargaya remain inaccessible by road and will require airlifted supplies to  reach them. RRN continues to coordinate closely with local authorities to ensure this support  reaches them as safely and quickly as possible.  

With this handover complete, RRN’s field team is now travelling to Dhunche to carry out further  assessments in Gosaikunda and Amachhodingmo. These assessments will directly inform the  second phase of relief supplies currently under preparation, helping ensure that RRN’s continued  response is targeted to where needs are greatest.
