From NDRRMA Situation Report #25 (19:00 NPT, 26 September 2026 / Ashwin 10, 2083), compared against Situation Report #24 (25 September / Ashwin 9) and RRN’s situation summary of 25 September 2026. Short format: vital data and RRN-relevant points only. Figures remain provisional and subject to NDRRMA reconciliation. |
1 KEY DEVELOPMENTS
Search and rescue has effectively moved to standby. Every hydropower site entry, including Upper Trishuli-1, now states that the Nepal Army remains on standby for risks and emergencies caused by continuous rainfall, replacing the earlier lines that search was ongoing. Only Trishuli 3B still also describes search as continuing.
The Central and district Monsoon Response Command Posts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading met and made decisions on identifying and verifying beneficiaries, relief operations, restoring road connectivity and keeping health services reachable where roads remain cut. A separate joint meeting of the Mobilization Team and cluster lead ministries reviewed the impact of ongoing rainfall nationwide, with the Department of Roads briefing on road restoration. The PDNA continues. Deaths (1,453) and missing (5,285) are unchanged.

3 CASUALTIES, MISSING AND SEARCH
Missing is unchanged for the first time since verification began, so the steady daily fall in Nuwakot’s other-district line has paused at 590. Rasuwa’s figures have now been static for five days. Bodies stored underground rose by one to 1,334, matching the district chart, leaving 7 of 1,453 bodies not yet stored or handed over. Forensic capacity is 33 teams of 53 personnel, with 11 specialists in 3 teams active.
4 SHELTER, HEALTH AND PROTECTION
- Holding centres: Occupancy fell by 4 to 1,109, all in Nuwakot (183). Rasuwa holds at 805, now 73% of all holding-centre residents.
- Health: Patients under treatment fell to 5, at the National Trauma Center (2) and TUTH (3). Other health figures, including the “last 24 hours” counts, are identical to 25 September.
- Protection: The Protection Cluster section is repeated word for word from 25 September, including the checkpoint monitoring, so it gives no new information on trafficking or other protection cases.
5 RELEVANCE FOR RRN
- Beneficiary lists: Today’s command post decisions on identifying and verifying beneficiaries, following yesterday’s request for partner support, mean the local government lists will determine who receives shelter and livelihood support. RRN will want to align its Rasuwa and Nuwakot targeting with them.
- Access: Road connectivity and health access where roads remain disrupted were on the command post agenda, but the report gives no road status details. RRN field teams should check routes to upper Rasuwa locally before moving.
- Rasuwa: Rasuwa now carries most of the remaining caseload: 805 people in holding centres and 3,514 of the 5,285 missing, neither of which has moved in recent days.
- 5W reporting: There is still no updated relief distribution data from NDRRMA, so RRN’s recent distributions remain unrecorded.
6 DATA GAPS
- DNA figures: The dashboard shows 1,329 samples from remains, while the body-management section shows 1,330.
- Stale sections: Education, health and protection content is unchanged from 25 September. Road, WASH and food security updates remain absent.
